Over 36,000 individuals have evacuated from Sudan's Kordofan region eastern sector of Darfur since Saturday, as stated by the UN's immigration body.

The important central zone connecting the country's Darfur areas and the capital region has in recent weeks become the newest conflict zone in the two-year civil war between the Sudanese armed forces and the paramilitary group.

Significant Evacuation Figures

An approximated 36,825 people fled five localities in North Kordofan state between 26 October and 31 October, according to the International Organization for Migration.

The civilians, most on foot, moved toward Tawila, a town west of El Fasher that is currently sheltering over 652,000 evacuated individuals.

Escalated Forces Deployment

Citizens of North Kordofan on Monday noted a substantial rise in both RSF and army concentration across urban and rural areas throughout the state.

Both forces are vying for control of El Obeid, the North Kordofan provincial capital and a critical supply and command base that links Darfur to Khartoum.

"Today, all our forces have converged on the Bara front here," said an RSF member in a recently distributed video declaration.

Area Residents Describe Security Concerns

A area citizen of Um Smeima, located west of El Obeid, reported that the amount of RSF vehicles had grown substantially since the group's takeover of El Fasher.

"We stopped going to our farms, concerned about confrontations," the individual commented.

Another resident, who asked to remain unnamed for protection purposes, also indicated that "there has been a big increase in army vehicles and weapons west and south of El Obeid" over the last fourteen days.

World Warnings and Calls

A senior UN official sounded warnings last week about "large-scale atrocities" and "race-driven revenge attacks" by RSF in Bara.

The official warned of patterns echoing those in Darfur, where RSF fighters have been charged with mass killings, sexual violence and abductions against specific ethnic communities.

The spiritual head on Sunday appealed for an quick cessation of hostilities and the creation of aid passageways in Sudan, declaring that attacks on civilians and impediments to humanitarian aid "are creating unacceptable suffering."

Sudan's official envoy to Egypt on Sunday charged RSF of committing war crimes in El Fasher and declared that the Sudanese government would not discuss with the paramilitary group.

The diplomat further urged the world nations to designate the group as a terrorist organisation.
