England Coach Tim Southee Unsure on The Ashes Availability
Tim Southee's most recent Test for the Kiwis was against England in December 2024.
England fast-bowling advisor Southee is still working through the extent of his role will be at the forthcoming Ashes series in the host nation.
The former New Zealand pace bowler is only likely to be present for the first Test due to his participation in the ILT20 tournament, which begins on 2 December in the United Arab Emirates.
The 36-year-old, aged 36, assumed a position as the English team's pace bowling advisor in the warmer months after taking 391 wickets in 107 Test matches for the Kiwis.
Commenting as England's team for the first of three T20 matches against the Kiwis was named, Southee stated of his participation: "We're still working through the situation at the moment.
"We will determine the outcome over the coming days."
English bowling legend Broad had declared the Australian team as their "worst team since 2010", but the consultant was in little doubt over the anticipated challenge during the contest, which begins on November 21.
"In my view there's ever a poor Aussie side," he said.
"The team's attention is squarely on our own objectives. In my opinion the caliber of [England's] side that's heading out to Australia is brilliant.
"It ought to be an absolute cracker, that series. Not only [are|do] fans from both nations looking forward to it, I believe the whole cricket world is."
However, before the English team head to the city of Perth for the opening Ashes Test, they face New Zealand in Christchurch on this Saturday.
