How these Denver Broncos and their 'play-dough' quarterback can end the Kansas City Chiefs' reign.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage features text commentary for Sunday's games via multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (from 14:00 BST). Also, audio coverage can be heard through designated networks for another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six of the NFL season , after recent discussion regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being a potential Super Bowl match-up, each lost their unbeaten records.

Striking during those contests was the amount of infractions both conceded. Philadelphia committed them in key moments meaning they essentially defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the final quarter versus Denver, set to play in London this Sunday.

But it proved positive to observe that Denver's QB the rookie was able to have the shortfall before direct three successful possessions on three possessions during the final period, securing the victory by four points.

The Broncos boast the defensive player of the year with CB Pat Surtain II. They are first in red zone defence, whereas the Eagles lead the league in red zone offence, and the Broncos won that contest.

They executed the Eagles' number regarding disguised blitzes. They did not always sending extra pass rushers but they could position two LBs in the 'A' gap then drop them out and send a slot defender off the edge.

At the start in the campaign, it was noted during a show how the Broncos could be the current year's dark horses. They finished last season strongly and excelled of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's underdog story?

Recently acquired TE their tight end has stepped up big and new running back JK Dobbins is a guy they believe in. He's currently fifth in the NFL in ground gains (402) and tied for fourth in rushing scores (four).

I love that the coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver are a team that wants to prioritize the run, because you can do a lot based on that approach. It slows down the pass rush and maintains in favourable down and distances.

This has helped QB the young passer, who entered the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to a star QB in rookie records (31 in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess powerful arms to pass all over, however they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He boasts incredible arm talent, a unique trait, and he is so athletic.

His assets include his movement, the capacity to pass while moving, and finding varied release points to make throws when he rolls out of the pocket, on rollouts. He can throw precision throws over the middle and past defenders.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he's got a lot of poise in the pocket and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to avoid a sack whenever possible and can throw in tight spots. He possesses a high football IQ and remains very decisive.

When you consistently run the ball it eats up the clock and makes the defence to stay in play extended periods, and when you have a mobile QB the defense has to cover the field downfield and horizontally. This proves exhausting.

The quarterback has pushed back at Payton during games at times and it seems Payton appreciates that attitude, seeing him as a fierce rival. I think it's exciting for him to have a young quarterback who's similar to moldable clay. The coach can truly develop him how he desires to shape him. I think it's a special experience for him.

The head coach has won a Super Bowl and has surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed it all. In my opinion the success Denver are experiencing on offence is mostly down to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with the QB helps shape him what he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you during difficult moments and build confidence.

I have faith in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. But are they good enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Since that was not a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Currently, I don't think Denver are elite. They're working better than most, that's a good place to hold their division. All they need is to continue this path.

They excel at embracing their strength, which is the ground game, and this is exactly what they should do versus the Jets in London. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

New York have surrendered 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (in the bottom ten), and they are the only team without a win a game.

Since the league started recording takeaways in 1933, this team are the first team to go without any turnovers in five outings, this is surprising considering that the head coach was previously a defensive coach with another team.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City are off to a poor start after a recent loss to Jacksonville.

After this Sunday's game, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule until their break (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, Kansas City are 2-3 while Denver are even with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the division.

It depends upon which form Kansas City shows up they face since Denver {beat|def
